We're the Glasgow Chapter of the Awesome Foundation. A fun way of giving £500, no-strings-attached mini-grants to cool projects that will make the world - and Glasgow - more Awesome!
Special bonus round
To finish up 2022 in style we are partnering with The Dollywood Foundation UK to offer seed funding for a brand-new Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Glasgow!
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library inspires a lifelong love of reading by gifting a book a month to children under the age of five. To do this, The Dollywood Foundation works with local people who want children living in their area to experience the magic of the Imagination Library. They fundraise locally to help cover the costs and support families to sign up.
The team are keen to hear from Glasgow based charities, groups or individuals and have an awesome idea to deliver the Imagination Library and spread the joy of books and reading to children in their community. The successful project will get £1000, enough to fund 480 books, plus help from the Imagination Library to set up and manage your project in your local area.
There are four criteria:
- The Imagination Library must be based in Glasgow (Glasgow - with a G postcode).
- You need to have a budget - prove you have a plan for how additional funds will be raised.
- It must benefit all children under five living in a defined geographic area, with no other registration criteria. The area can be as large or small as you like!
- It must be a new Imagination Library. This fund is only open to organisations who are not current “operating affiliates” of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
Finalists will be invited to a gift night which you need to be able to attend in person or online. Travel expenses can be provided if required.
NEXT DEADLINE: Monday 5th December 2022
GIFT NIGHT: Tuesday 13th December 2022
